HOMETOWN. New York City, New York
OVERALL. Demon's past is shrouded in mystery. She doesn't know where she came from or who her parents are. She was raised in an orphanage. The Saint Christopher's Wayward Home for Boys and Girls. The orphanage didn't care about mutant children, but all they had there were mutant children. It was an orphanage specifically for mutants and though the adults running the place didn't care one way or the other, they did raise her until she was old enough to run away and find the world on her own. At the age of 13 Cassandra ran away from the orphanage and lived her life on the streets.
Over time she found other mutants that she would consider her first real family. They were her closest friends and she would die to protect them. They became the lost. They had the symbol and the banner in their dilapidated building because they believed in the cause. They even got the customary tattoos that said "Lost Forever..." On their arms. At least Demon did. No one in her group has ever learned her real name. She doesn't share it with anyone. It is part of her past and her past does not matter anymore. The only name anyone knows her by is Demon.
